2024 TVS Jupiter 110 Review: New Features, Design, and Performance Insights
2024 TVS Jupiter 110: A Promising Update in the Scooter Segment
TVS Motor Company has launched the updated 2024 TVS Jupiter 110, marking 11 years since the original TVS Jupiter debuted in 2013. Interestingly, TVS mentions that the 11-year gap mirrors the planet Jupiter’s revolution cycle, which takes 11 Earth years. While the analogy is creative, let’s focus on the real question: has TVS done enough to make this scooter a strong contender in the market? We took a short ride on the updated Jupiter 110 to find out.
Designing a family scooter that looks modern yet familiar is always a challenge. TVS seems to have struck the right balance with the 2024 Jupiter 110. The new design is both beefier and fresher, incorporating modern elements like the Infinity LED DRL on the front apron and a sleek piano-black finish on the all-LED headlamp cluster.
The scooter’s side panels, crafted from metal, feature new creases that give it a more contemporary look. The overall silhouette remains true to its family-scooter roots but has a slightly sportier edge to appeal to younger buyers. The rear of the scooter also sees some updates, with new slim LED tail lamps that align with the front LED DRL, creating a cohesive design.
In today’s competitive market, features can make or break a vehicle, and TVS has ensured the 2024 Jupiter 110 doesn’t fall short. The scooter now boasts a fully digital instrument cluster that supports TVS Xonnect connected technology via Bluetooth and a mobile app. This allows riders to use voice commands and track their scooter through the app.
Additionally, the Jupiter 110 now offers a larger 33-liter under-seat storage space, enough to fit two helmets, thanks to the repositioning of the fuel tank beneath the floorboard. The front-mounted fuel-filler cap adds to the convenience. Other features include turn signal reset, distance to empty, average and real-time fuel efficiency readouts, and a new emergency braking light for safer panic braking. However, this braking light could use some refinement for better functionality.
Moving the fuel tank forward has made the Jupiter 110 more manageable at low speeds, especially in traffic. Even at higher speeds, the scooter remains agile, thanks to its new 12-inch tires, which provide better grip. The suspension setup is well-tuned, and the new 220mm petal rotor at the front has improved braking performance.
Under the hood, the Jupiter 110 is powered by a 113cc engine derived from the larger Jupiter 125. It delivers 8.02 hp and 9.8 Nm of torque, a slight improvement from the previous model. The new iGO Assist mild-hybrid technology, which uses an ISG (Integrated Starter Generator), adds an extra 0.6 Nm of torque, though its effect on overall performance is subtle. What’s more noticeable is the improved fuel efficiency, with TVS claiming an 8-10% increase in mileage, though official ARAI numbers are yet to be released.
Starting at ₹ 73,700, the 2024 TVS Jupiter 110 is priced competitively, especially when compared to its main rival, the Honda Activa. With its updated design, enhanced features, and improved powertrain, the Jupiter 110 has the potential to climb to the top spot in the crowded scooter segment. TVS has clearly put in the effort to make this scooter a compelling choice for buyers looking for a reliable and stylish ride.
