Just a month ago, Tata introduced the Curvv EV and now there is a new addition to the Curvv family in the form of Curvv petrol and diesel variants. The costs of the Tata Curvv starts at an enticing ₹9. Lakh for the base petrol model and ₹ 11 lakh for the base diesel variant. 49 lakh. These are introductory prices and these will be reviewed upward beginning November 2024.
The Curvv ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) models are offered in eight different configurations and six different colors so buyers will have flexible choices when it comes to customization of the vehicles. For the engine, Tata has offered three options and multiple transmission options to suit the buyers’ driving profiles.
Tata Curvv Design
The Tata Curvv ICE’s exterior is quite similar to Curvv EV in terms of styling with a coupe SUV silhouette that has attracted glances. The main changes are with the front grille and air vents which have been optimized for the ICE variants. In the compact SUV segment the Curvv has a unique design language as it is one of the few models classified in this segment to feature coupe like characteristics on par with Citroen Basalt.
Tata Curvv features interior design and style
Moving in, Tata Curvv retains a Sheer, classy and well equipped interior. The interior has a new-age 4 spoke steering wheel same like that of the Tata Harrier.
Lighting: On the ceiling of the door or on the side of the dashboard there is a strip of ambient lighting which enhances the interior aesthetic sense.
The focal point of the dashboard is a twelve-inch high-quality touch screen. 3-inch touch screen multimedia system that supports Apple Car play and android auto. The Curvv for the music lovers comes equipped with 9 speakers JBL audio system to deliver the best music experience. Some of the other features are a panoramic sunroof, auto climate control, air purifier and ventilated front seats making the ride even more comfortable for the passengers.
Safety is also a priority in the Tata Curvv, with six airbags coming as standard across all trims. The higher variants are further equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), an electronic parking brake, and a tire pressure monitoring system, reinforcing the Curvv’s position as a technologically advanced vehicle in its class.
The Tata Curvv ICE offers three engine choices to suit various driving needs. The first is a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that delivers 118 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. For those seeking a bit more power, there is a new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine, producing 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque. Diesel enthusiasts are catered to with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that generates 113 bhp and 260 Nm of torque.
All three engines can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT), making the Tata Curvv ICE the first diesel car in its segment to feature a dual-clutch automatic transmission. This variety in powertrains ensures that the Curvv appeals to a broad spectrum of buyers.
In the competitive compact SUV segment, the Tata Curvv faces stiff competition from several established players. Key rivals include the Citroen Basalt, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, and Volkswagen Taigun. With its attractive pricing, striking design, and a host of modern features, the Curvv is well-positioned to make a strong impact in this crowded market.
Thus, Tata Motors is gradually penetrating the Indian automotive market deeper: the company has introduced petrol and diesel versions of the Curvv. The Curvv is stylish, technologically advanced and thus, perfect for the buyers who want something out of the ordinary in the compact SUV segment. Based on the price segment and the number of the features to be included in the model, the Tata Curvv will be able to compete with other vehicles.
