Currently as of September 1st the situation is still critical with floods occurring after heavy rains in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and also Floods in Hyderabad. The New Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has immediately called a meeting of the ministers and officials to review the damages and to begin with the process of rehabilitation as per the details shared by PTI.

Te railway network of SCR has suffered immensely by floods whereby one hundred and three trains were cancelled en mass while four others were half cancelled, fifty four others were rerouted. An SCR official was able to offer these details in order to give an account of the level of disruption.
The situation in Khammam district is such that about 110 villages have reportedly got inundated by flood. About 119 persons are still trapped on hillocks and buildings waiting for their survival to be salvaged. Taking to his social media profiles, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “110 villages in Khammam district are flooded, nine are stranded on Prakash Nagar hillock, 68 are stuck in Azmeera Thanda hillock in Palair constituency and 42 are trapped in buildings.”

As many as nine teams from NDRF have been deployed in Telangana to help in rescue operations and three teams for this purpose have arrived from Chennai, one from Visakhapatnam and five from Assam.
It has been observed from the case of the Telangana and several districts of Andhra Pradesh received heavy floodings. But this year the situation in Vijayawada specially the Rama Krishna Puram area was rather grim, with families waking up to find their house and cars submerged due to the floods. Both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local police have been round the clock involved in rescuing the affected and moving them to the provided rehabilitation camps, where all their needs are adequately taken care of.
Those in authorities in both states are keenly observing the situation as the search and rescue as well as distribution of humanitarian assistance goes on. Due to more rain falls expected in the future the governments are on standby to respond to any calamity as it were.
Conclusion
There has been massive destruction of property and farmland; and even peoples’ lives have been affected in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh due to the rainy season, and this has called for a joint effort from both the state and central governments. As rescue operations are being carried out, people of the affected areas need to be aware and act accordingly as well.
